My name is Chandler Whicker and I am a Communications major at High Point University. I am a member of the High Point University Dance Team and have been dancing for over 17 years. My future ambition is to become a Sports Broadcaster. I enjoy being on camera and have an interest in producing media.

I have experience in programs used for producing media. These programs include Photoshop, InDesign, Audacity, and iMovie. I have been able to construct ads, edit images, film and produce pieces of video work, edit audio clips, and design brochures. To see examples, click on the taps located on my page!

Behind the scenes: The work off the field

Working off the field

On game days, eager fans arrive to pull for their favorite team. For the fans, game days provide entertainment but for stadium employees, the prep work for the big event starts a week prior to kickoff.

Used to working tedious hours, Glenn Putnam knows the type of prep work that is necessary when preparing for Carolina Panther games. Putnam is the Internal Coordinator for Delaware North Companies at Bank of America Stadium.

Putnam starts his prep work for game days a week prior to the game. His responsibility is to manage internal food orders placed on game days. The food orders are for different departments including the Ticket Office, Stadium Operations, Panthers Offices, Officials, Security, Panthers Locker Room, Visiting Team Locker Room, etc.

During the week, Putnam goes to each site to set up tables and deliver utensils. Also, he is responsible for setting up tents located outside the stadium that parties can rent on game days.

On top of managing orders, Putnam monitors inventory and places orders for alcohol and necessary supplies.

Putnam arrives at the stadium at 5:30 in the morning on game days and leaves around 6:00 in the evening.

"There is a lot of work that goes into the game that an outsider or fan at the games doesn't realize" says Putnam.

He usually receives around 45 orders per game.

While the job may be stressful, Putnam enjoys being able to work behind the scenes to help prepare an enjoyable game day experience.
